Become a PatronCombo Breaker is back this year, and all the tournaments so far have been full of incredibly hype moments. Tekken 7 was no exception, as we had several world-beaters and some unexpected guests in our top 8!
Our day started with America’s greatest, Anakin, taking on the TWT winner Rangchu. Korean player decided to go with Julia, but Anakin had his number throughout, and he even got two perfects in a row with his trusty Jack-7.
In the second winners bracket match, the local hero Shadow 20z faced off against none other than Arslan Ash, but couldn’t overcome the pressure of one of the best players in the world.
Down in the losers bracket, two Donuts USG players clashed against each other – Pinya and Gen. Pinya did all he could, but his more experienced teammate came out victorious, 2:1.
The second match was between Cuddle_core and the only European representative in the top 8, Sephiblack. German player took the first game pretty handily, but then Cuddle_core made a fierce comeback and took a game of her own. In the end, though, Sephi’s Miguel was too strong today, 2:1.
In the second round, Gen managed to overpower Shadow 20z’s Claudio with his Shaheen, while Sephiblack made Europe proud by defeating mighty Rangchu.
In the losers bracket semifinals, the incredibly manly bout between Gen’s Shaheen and Sephiblack’s Miguel ended with a victory for the Japanese player.
Up top in the winners bracket finals, Arslan Ash faced off against Anakin, with his Zafina struggling against Jack-7 at times. Still, his sheer proficiency at the character made all the difference, as the Pakistani player secured the 3:1 victory and the place in the grand finals.
Sadly for the local audience, Anakin then lost his second match in a row, conceding the losers bracket finals against Gen’s Fahkumram.
The entire top 8 bracket was incredibly hype, but the final matchup ended up being a little bit disappointing for the neutral viewer. For this match, Gen decided to pick Fahkumram as a counter to Arslan’s Zafina, but this ended up being a mistake. Arslan Ash seemed to have a read on his Japanese opponent all game long, and even the switch to Shaheen didn’t seem to make a difference either. With this dominant display, Arslan Ash becomes the winner of Combo Breaker 2022 for Tekken 7!
