Start of an exciting new chapter in the talented player's career

It’s been a good few months for the fighting game pro players. First, Team Falcons signed Mister Crimson, Ghirlanda, and JoKa. Some time later, FaZe Clan announced the acquisition of Tekken stars Joey Fury and HK Jr. Then, a few days ago, FlyQuest surprised everyone by signing Punk along with re-signing Jmook. And to top it all off, last night, Team Liquid announced that Marquis “Shadow 20z” Jordan became their new Tekken player.

If you don’t know who Marquis “Shadow 20z” Jordan is, just turn on a North American Tekken tournament. It’s nearly impossible to watch Top 24 and not see him taking names. Those familiar with Tekken already know what Shadow has done to earn a spot on Liquid. But for those who don’t, Shadow is one of the most prolific and consistent Tekken players in North America. Shadow enters tournaments almost every week and according to Liquipedia, he hasn’t placed below top 24 in over 5 years.

This isn’t Team Liquid’s first foray into Tekken. Previously, Genki "Gen" Kumisaka was their player in this game. TL is mainly known in the FGC for its presence in Smash, but they have also previously sponsored Street Fighter players Naoki "Nemo" Nemoto, Ryota "John Takeuchi" Takeuchi, and Du "NuckleDu" Dang.
