Matchday 7 of Street Fighter League was another interesting fare with the table really starting to take shape. Here are the games that took place.

  • Good 8 Squad vs Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto
  • DetonatioN FocusMe vs Shinobism Gaming
  • Nagoya NTPOJA vs FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN

Game1: Good 8 Squad (Away) vs Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto (Home)

  • Kawano (Akuma) 0 vs Higuchi (Guile) 2
  • Gachikun (Rashid) 2 vs Fuudo (Ed) 0
  • Pugera (Bison) 3 vs Daigo (Akuma) 2

This was a pulsating bout as one of the top contenders, Good 8 Squad looked to go top if they were able to get a win. They did just that even after suffering an early setback with Kawano losing to Higuchi. But, they made things right with a perfect Gachikun performance. It came down to Pugera vs Daigo to determine who would win the match. At 2-1, Daigo had a chance to level things, but for some reason, he didn't do his level 3 combo and Pugera took the initiative and won.

This means G8S went top with 180 points.

Final Scores

Good 8 Squad (30) vs Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto (10)

Game 2: DetonatioN FocusMe (Away) vs Shinobism Gaming (Home)

  • John Takeuchi (Rashid) 1 vs Fujimura (Akuma) 2
  • Nauman (Ken) 1 vs Yamaguchi (Ed) 2
  • Machabo (Akuma) 3 vs Momochi (Ed) 2
  • Machabo (Akuma) 1 vs Momochi (Ed) 0

DetonatioN FocusMe without Fuudo (who really helped them last season) are not the same force and against Shinobism Gaming who are also experiencing a turnaround in fortunes from last season have been on a hot streak. They needed a win to keep them top of the table and stand in G8S's way and they started really well with a win for Fujimura. Yamaguchi also took down Nauman. What was left was journeyman, Machabo, against team captain Momochi.

Machabo, who is taking the place of Fuudo, did what the former Evo winner was able to do for them last season which was come in clutch and take important points. He got the win over Momochi which led to the tie breaker where the two played again and Machabo won again stealing victory from Shinobism. This keeps DFM at the bottom of the table, but at least a little closer to moving beyond the last spot. This also meant that Shinobism were pipped from top spot, but are still in the running for the playoff spots.

Final Scores

DetonatioN FocusMe (25) vs Shinobism Gaming (20)

Game 3: Nagoya NTPOJA (Away) vs FUKUSHIMA IBUSHIGIN (Home)

  • Otani (Ken) 0 vs Kakeru (Akuma) 2
  • Kei.B (Bison) 0 vs Sasamo (Ed) 2
  • Tachikawa (Ed) 2 vs Cosa (Ken) 3

IBUSHIGIN making their debut in Street Fighter League really needed the points as they sat in 5th spot far from playoff spots. But with a brilliant display from the team, they got the whole 40 points which moved them to 4th and only 10 points behind Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto. Kakeru who has lost a couple of anchor spot matches has stopped putting himself as the last man and has been going first. It has been effective and he got another win.

Final Scores

Nagoya NTPOJA (0) vs FUKUSHIIMA IBUSHIGIN (40)
