Perhaps not how Capcom wanted it, but we now have a date for the heavily anticipated game from Capcom
Street Fighter 6, one of the most heavily anticipated games of next year, now has a release date! The hype around Street Fighter 6 has been immense, and with the second closed beta test coming up, we have even more to sink our teeth into.
This information comes from the Playstation Store where an image of Street Fighter 6 popped up in their 'coming soon' tab. Upon opening it, it was discovered that there were dates for the game's release and also the iterations of the game that would be sold.
According to the screenshot, Street Fighter 6 will be released on the 2nd of June, 2023. This happens to be on a Friday, which is consistent with Capcom's release schedule and is something they have done before.
From what we can glean from the image, there will be three iterations of the game
- Standard Edition
- Deluxe Edition
- Ultimate Edition
The standard edition will contain the game, and a special outfit for six characters. It is unclear who these six characters will be and if they will be uniform across all purchases. There will also be special titles and stickers.
As for the Deluxe edition, it has everything the standard edition has, but with a year one character pass. This means that any DLC character released in the first year of the game will be available for people with the game's Deluxe edition. There is also the Ultimate Edition which has everything the other two have, but with something called Year One ultimate pass. It is unsure what this means, but it certainly points to more access.
The prices are currently unavailable but should be announced at The Game Awards today.
This is certainly exciting news, and it would be interesting to see how this affects the Capcom Pro Tour for next year. We'll keep you up to date with the news as it develops.
