Two Japanese players, Hikaru and Akutagawa, have broken past the 2500MR wall in Street Fighter 6. This is remarkable considering how difficult it is to garner points in the ranked system.
The previous Master Rate league phase had Capcom Cup 11 winner, Kakeru at the top spot with 2450MR, which would have only been enough for 3rd place this time. Hikaru is a player with Zeta Division and has been in the game since Street Fighter V.
However, Akutagawa is still a bit of a mystery to the general fanbase as he has little to no social media presence and doesn't typically compete in tournaments. He is a Manon player and probably the best in the world, considering she is seen as being in the lower tiers in the tier list.
In reality, Akutagawa is something of a veteran as was pointed out by HiFight on X who explained that Akutagawa came to prominence in Street Fighter IV using Dudley, and has even been invited for a Topanga League back in 2014.
It was further explained that as an office worker, he doesn't have the time to make many offline events or travel for tournaments.
