Leffen Sets His Sights on Street Fighter 6 for 2027

Leffen is a Swedish player who is an Evo champion in two titles, namely Super Smash Bros. Melee and Guilty Gear -STRIVE-.

He has also been contracted to TSM since 2015 and has tried his hand competitively at several fighting games. It seems Street Fighter 6 is his latest target, as he announced that he will focus on competing in the game in 2027 and would like to explore sponsorship opportunities.

He said this following a pulsating Evo France Top 8, which saw American player Dual Kevin win his first-ever Evo title. Leffen, who competed in both Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and 2XKO, tweeted his intentions for SF6, saying:

“Thought about it and I will be giving SF6 a serious shot in 2027. The odds are against me to do well in a short span but I think with some serious practice and bootcamps I can get really good really fast. Will still be entering other games as well, 2x/cotw/tokon. Sponsors hmu.”

In a follow-up tweet, he clarified that SF6 would not become his main game forever. However, he appreciates the level of competition within the scene and would like to test himself by coming from behind.

Leffen has already had a taste of the competitive SF6 scene, having entered a number of tournaments between 2023 and 2024, including DreamHack 2024 and Headstomper 2023. He was also one of the invitees for the inaugural Red Bull Kumite for SF6.

It is true that SF6 is incredibly competitive, and consistency is one of the hardest things to achieve in the game. This is why players like MenaRD command so much respect for their results. Leffen is extremely skilled and will be a welcome addition to the great competition we already have.
