What do early in-game discoveries look like in real competitive action?

Fighting esports lives and thrives thanks to many community tournaments. They help players train in a tough competitive environment and get prepared for significantly bigger events.

Mortal Kombat 1 is a fresh title on the scene, and even just a few days after the full release, it has accumulated a lot of mind-blowing discoveries — by various players. Have you seen this 100% damage corner setplay by UltraDavid? What do you think about Rewind’s clips with Reiko?

All these MK1 combos and techs should prove their viability in real esports matches. And what could be a better way to do so than a top-level community tournament? (Let pro players demonstrate their skills, and we will take notes about their cool tricks — to add to our own practice routine.)

Tampa Never Sleeps conducts quite a few series of online events, for such games as Guilty Gear Strive, Street Fighter 6, Tekken 7, and DBFZ

Mortal Kombat 1 has joined this impressive lineup, and the tournament TNS MK1 #2 happened just recently. Let’s take a look at those matches and their results!

Rewind brought the pair of Reiko/Darrius to this tournament and defeated Ashrah/Sektor of ReBeL in the Winners Semi-Final.

In the parallel bracket, Pulse had a pretty close match vs Ludi (Johnny Cage/Cyrax vs Sindel/Sub-Zero).

Rewind and Pulse faced each other again — in two matches, the Final and the Grand Final. Both were very tough, and Pulse won them, 3:2. Congratulations!

MK1 is certainly gaining momentum at the moment, and we surely can expect many more interesting tournaments coming really soon, from small community fights to (hopefully) a big official league.

One of the first multi-game fighting esports events that host Mortal Kombat 1 is CEOtaku VII, on September 22-24. Will you be watching these matches?
