The 2nd North America West Qualifier in the Mortal Kombat Pro Kompetition has finished and the top spot was taken by none other than Hourglass_of_Rain, who defeated veterans, KingGambler and SonicFox to get the victory.
The top 8 was an interesting affair which saw top players from the western hemisphere of the United States duke it out to see the winner.
Hourglass' run was phenomenal as he defeated SonicFox twice, first putting the former Evo champion in Losers by winning in top 16 before repeting the feat in the Losers' final. This enabled Hourglass to take on KingGambler again in Grand Final where he reset the bracket and ultimately got the victory.
This win propels him to 3rd place in the regional leaderboard.
SonicFox waxed lyrical about Hourglass' talent especially since the latter only started playing Mortal Kombat with this current iteration. Before now, Hourglass mostly competed in Guilty Gear -STRIVE- tournaments and looks like another fighting game young prodigy coming forward. SonicFox described him as the best Mileena he had ever played.
