He gave a short statement
MenaRD who is representing Bandits for Street Fighter League USA, released a short statement regarding some of the issues that took place during the final day of the Street Fighter League USA 2024 season.
Mena explained in a tweet that he immediately apologized to the whole team and that everything is fine, but that he would not be commenting further considering the incident in question happened ages ago and is only just coming to the public space due to the format in which SFL USA is recorded and released.
The situation involved Mena's pop-off after winning the all-important final match against NL, which enabled the Bandits to qualify for the playoffs. In the VOD, Mena threw his jersey toward team Shopify Rebellion, and it hit Sayff, prompting team captain NuckleDu to confront the Bandits.
Following the airing of the episode, NuckleDu called out Capcom Fighters for not showing the altercation as the omission made him and his team look weak.
The drama is a little weird considering how much time has passed and it is only an indicator of how much better it would be if SFL USA found a way to make the league live.
