Kilzyou Announces Departure from Karmine Corp After Two Years
The club is now without a fighting game player

French player Kilzyou has announced his departure from Karmine Corp, marking the end of a two-year stint with the organization.

The Street Fighter 6 pro recently placed 7th at FightClub Championship VI Chengdu, where he was eliminated by Punk in the losers bracket. The result means he fell short of qualifying for Capcom Cup 12, both through the global leaderboard, where he currently sits in 23rd place, and through the tournament itself, which was ultimately won by 14-year-old prodigy, Hinao.

Despite the setback, Kilzyou’s season is far from over. He remains in contention to qualify for Capcom Cup through the World Warrior program, where he leads his regional standings after back-to-back tournament wins.

In a post on social media, Kilzyou reflected on his performance and confirmed his free agency. He wrote:

“7th place for the latter, top of the year in China. Very happy with how I played this weekend! Unfortunately, it was my last tournament for @KarmineCorp. It was an honor to represent them and I loved these last two years! I am now a free agent!”

Karmine Corp first entered the fighting game community (FGC) in 2023 as part of a growing trend of large esports organizations expanding beyond traditional titles like League of Legends and Valorant. Their investment in players like Kilzyou and Tekken veteran JDCR was seen as a sign of the FGC’s increasing legitimacy on the global esports stage. However, both players’ departures suggest that Karmine Corp may now be scaling back its involvement in the scene.

While the overall reaction from fans and players was supportive, a brief exchange with teammate Gen1us on social media drew attention. Kilzyou appeared to take issue with one of Gen1us’ comments, responding sharply and from the translated tweet seemed to insinuate that Gen1us had a responsibility of making fighting games accessible to fans of Karmine Corps (who are considerable), but failed to do so despite having a large platform.

Even so, Kilzyou’s consistency and strong results this season make him a valuable prospect for any team. With multiple top-eight finishes across major tournaments, he has proven himself to be one of Europe’s most reliable and exciting Street Fighter 6 competitors.
