The character has a unique playstyle that should make him fun for players
Street Fighter 6’s second-year fourth DLC character, Arjun, has had his gameplay trailer revealed.
Arjun is a former police officer who was apparently framed for the murder of his partner. He is on a quest to find the ones responsible and will stop at nothing until he finds the truth. He is also mentioned to have wanted to be an actor before picking up the badge.
In terms of playstyle, Arjun is pretty interesting. His mechanic works around grey life damage. This is a mechanic in fighting games in which a character can lose a portion of their vitality that is recoverable if they aren’t hit, but if they do get hit, they lose that life. The recoverable damage is typically manifested as a grey bar within the regular health bar.
Arjun has a projectile called ‘Breathing Ring’, which can be activated to either go straight or hit the opponent at a 45-degree angle, depending on the button pressed. Arjun also possesses a shoulder charge move called ‘Cruel Shoulder’, which, depending on the strength, is either safe or plus on block. He can also summon spires from the ground, which he implements in his fight.
On top of all that, he has a command throw that only deals grey damage called ‘Ghastly Interrogation’. However, if the opponent already has grey life, it deals actual damage. Added to that, he also possesses something called ‘Indomitable Defense’, where he hardens his body and walks forward toward the opponent. It is reminiscent of the Zangief V2 skill in Street Fighter V.
Some of Arjun’s flair really comes through in his Level 3 Super, where he even incorporates the well-known Bollywood dance before dealing justice to the enemy.
He is set to release on October 13, 2026.
