Kenny Omega Proves Superiority over Mighty Mouse in Street Fighter 6
The wrestling champ showed his Street Fighter 6 prowess in a series of sets that proved quite entertaining

Kenny Omega made good on his promise to defeat Demetrious Johnson when the two met to play Street Fighter 6 sets.

The drama started with a call out by Johnson on Kenny in an interview where he said he could easily defeat Kenny in a Street Fighter 6 set. Kenny accepted the challenge and a date was set.

The stage turned out to be a show called 'Pit Crew' where players faced off in a game with gimmicks thrown in to make things more interesting. With this set, the idea was to play three rounds of first-to-five sets. The first round was played on identical gaming PCs with the players' personal controller. However, after Kenny won the first set 5-1, some changes were made.

The first was to provide Kenny with a 12fps CRT screen and rig and also a Nintendo controller. The next round of games also took place in Extreme Battle, the mode in Street Fighter 6 where players are hit with various environmental and game-inflicted handicaps or parameters to make the fight spicier.

Here, Johnson, with the advantage was able to win the round. Then it was Johnson's turn to be hit with a series of nerfs. Kenny got his controller back, although he was still on a terrible PC setup, he was able to win again.

Kenny then asked for another round with the field leveled again. Kenny was once again victorious, at which point it was substantially clear who the better Street Fighter 6 player was.

The show itself was fun and there were a few FGC names in the chat including Justin Wong, Alex Myers, and even Jebailey.

In terms of content, it was certainly different from what we are used to and maybe due to the star power of the players, or the different format, but the videon has gone really well garnering over 500,000 views within the last 24 hours which is a very incredible number.

Whether there will be more shows within the FGC (this one cannot really be called a core FGC event) remains to be seen, but it does show what can be done with the game.
