Haitani Hits Master Rank with Modern A.K.I., Explains Her Strengths
streetfighter.com
A.K.I. is now playable and one of the greatest Japanese players has already copped a great achievement

The new character A.K.I. has been out for a little over 24 hours and we have already seen her in tournament, had a pro player reach master rank, and have had a tonne of people either love her or hate her.

It's safe to say that she is a hit with fans as she has brought out so many impressions already.

This also means that people are labbing her consistently and it is one of such endeavours that has made waves already. One of the five fighting game gods from Japan, Haitani, now has the distinct honour of being the first man to take A.K.I. to master rank on Modern controls.

A.K.I. on Modern, like every other character, loses a few things on Modern including her anti-air as it becomes painfully unreliable on Modern controls.

However, Haitani, who made Evo 2023 Top 6 with Modern Chun li, has been able to do it and even streamed the journey on his Twitch channel.

In his post, he explained what his overall thoughts on the character was. According to him, she has very good damage output in Modern and a decent pick for anyone.

A rough translation of his tweet provided by @chocobotiger, goes thus:

I reached the Master rank in Modern with AKI. Modern combos deal significant damage, and poison damage is effective. Defense is challenging with only the invincible SA for anti-air, but AKI's SAs are powerful tools, making her very sturdy in Modern mode.

Some other pros have either voiced content or discontent with her. For instance, MonoPR seems happy enough with the character, while Punk is less than impressed.

The next character to come out will be Ed and we can expect him before the end of the year.
