He wonders if it would have been better to stay home
Dual Kevin, one of the strongest players in the world, just came off a 2nd place finish at Blink Respawn where he lost to NoahTheProdigy, meaning he is not yet qualified for Capcom Cup.
This has not been lost on people who have noticed considering his performances in all the offline events that have taken place and he has been to.
A Japanese X user, Shiramizu, posted about this, listing Dual Kevin's results from offline tournaments including a 2nd place finish at Cream City Convergence where he lost to MenaRD, a 3rd place finish at East Coast Throwdown where he lost to iDom, and the Blink Respawn result.
Dual Kevin responded to the post saying he was really disappointed at how consistency doesn't seem to mean anything for the Capcom Pro Tour this year and how he might as well have stayed home.
The responses to his post have mostly been people consoling him and calling for a return of the points system.
The points system would have meant that all of Kevin's finishes would have accrued him a substantial number of points and would have placed him in good stead to qualify for Capcom Cup. However, as it stands, his most likely path for qualification would have to be through the World Warrior program.
Dual Kevin currently sits at the top of the Midwest table with 175 points, 30 more than second-place JAK and with only one tournament left to play, is likely to qualify from that region as the top placer.
Capcom have announced that next season's CPT will have Capcom Cup slots for the winner of the upcoming Capcom Cup, and all four team members of the SFL World Championship. This hints at the possibility of more changes to the format so as to encourage more travel for top players.
