End of an era for many esports, and the FGC as a whole, as virtually all CLG players start looking for opportunities.
Just a few days ago, it was reported that CLG (Counter Logic Gaming) was going to be shutting down many of its esports teams or at least looking to sell them off. Today, by way of CLG's lead Greg Kim, we learned of the news that he would be let go, a major figure within the organization.
Soon after, many tweets from FGC players started rolling out confirming that they too were now outside of the CLG organization and open to new position elsewhere.
The news of their release is another massive wave of sadness that washes over not just the FGC, but the industry as a whole. It was not too long ago that we learned Beyond the Summit would be going under as well. Time will tell what will happen to players let go today. Nevertheless, there are some stories that can inspire some hope, like how Tweek and MkLeo also suffered sudden releases but were eventually picked up by Luminosity Gaming.
