Capcom Unveils Cutting-Edge RE Engine Mocap Technique in SF6 Showcase
The showcase elaborated on how Street Fighter 6 is able to look so smooth

Capcom recently showed off the motion capture for Street Fighter 6 as it was fed directly into RE Engine to elucidate their procedure of bringing the hallowed fighting game title to life.

A clip of the video was posted by Jonathan Cooper, a developer with Apple, who lauded the company for showing off the internal workings of the engine.

In the clip, we see the motion capture actors for Kimberly and Luke fighting and how this is translated into RE Engine. We also saw a clip with Juri and Jamie and one of the actors making a jump that looks like Manon's

RE Engine is a product made by Capcom and was originally made for Resident Evil 7 but it was also used for Street Fighter 6. It was Capcom's in-house response to Unreal Engine 5 which was the engine Street Fighter V was on.

Capcom doesn't license their engine, so the video is most likely a conference for those interested in joining the company.

There is an entire playlist on YouTube where they go into detail on RE Engine, its past and their plans for the future. There, it is revealed that the motion capture actors are in-house for greater cost-effectiveness.

Capcom's next plan with Street Fighter 6 is the Capcom Pro Tour France offline event that takes place this weekend from the 3rd-5th of November 2023.
