This local scene is recovering after some significant shakes

An online tournament happened in Australia this weekend. It was a 1v1 part of CouchWarriors x Jerry Cup - Brawlhalla Banquet. The doubles section took place the previous week.

The Australian Brawlhalla scene has passed through quite an unpleasant period (and it probably is still in it). Many top-level pros got banned from the competition. Even before that, the AUS players did not have many opportunities to prove the strength of their region on the global stage — they are not invited to Royale Invitationals, and traveling to Brawlhalla offline events at DreamHacks is rather complicated.

The first hit happened back at the Summer Championship, when the ban was revealed for most players right on the match day. After that, Asmodie left the scene too.

This Banquet should show us what the Australian Brawlhalla community is capable of now.

Kylar Alice had a really good chance to return to the top at this tournament. He defeated cayzdaddy and Moxyz on the way to the Grand Final. But then, he faced the fresh power of Rygunduz — the guy fell into Loser after the Semi and defeated three opponents to make it to the Grand Final.

The decisive match was pretty successful for Rygunduz. The bracket was reset, and the fight was won.

Rygunduz is the Winner of CouchWarriors x Jerry Cup - Brawlhalla Banquet. Congratulations!

Considering that Rygunduz also won the 2v2 section (with Dooblakek), we might see the birth of a new power in the region. Let’s wait for the Autumn Championship to see how the rest of the Australian competitive community will be able to adapt and prepare themselves for a more important event.
