The 2Game team was too strong
2Game, a Brazilian esports organization, has emerged as the winners of the South American Street Fighter League. This tournament which was put together by the FightersArgentina platform, featured various teams from the region, and 2Game was the winner.
The 2Game team was too strong as it consisted of Capcom Cup runner-up, Blaz, JUNINHO-RAS, Zangief Bolado, and Brayan_Job.
2Game's social media account celebrated the win with a post and a short statement in which they said: "WE ARE CHAMPIONS OF THE 1ST SOUTH AMERICAN SF6 LEAGUE!
Last weekend, our team had a perfect run and without losing a single set, we made history in the first edition! Congratulations to @FightersArg for the organization!"
Unfortunately, there isn't much known about the tournament and this is their very first edition. It is called Liga Sudamericana and was streamed on Twitch, and YouTube.
Three of the players from 2Game really made a splash with Zangief Bolado impressing with a win over Tokido in the group stages while JUNINHO-RAS won three of his five games in a group that also had AngryBird and Shuto.
The idea of having an SFL in South America would be great and something for Capcom to consider as these same players took part in the South America Street Fighter League combines for a chance to be invited to Street Fighter League USA, but it never happened. Suppose there is no SFL in South America. In that case, it is entirely possible that some of these players would be invited to SFL USA, or maybe even the possibility of a team expansion, just as there has been in Japan, and the whole team could be included too.
This is all speculation of course, and it remains to be seen what will happen for SFL USA for 2025.
