AyoRichie Wins Red Bull Golden Letters Tournament
The aspiring Tekken player shows the strength of the UK and EU scene

Red Bull's Golden Letters tournament took place last weekend at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. This Tekken 7 tournament had some of the best players in the world fight each other with one unique twist on the ruleset.

The competitors could win their sets the normal way or they could earn the titular Golden Letters by winning their rounds with either Great (winning on very low health) or Perfect (winning without losing any health) rating. After earning 3 golden letters, they win the set outright.

This tournament gave us not just a new and exciting format for the Tekken competition. It gave us an incredible story of an up-and-coming player forging his pedestal by confidently battling through some of the best Tekken players in the world.

AyoRichie didn't just beat Anakin and Joey Fury, he won all of his matches going either 3-0 or 3-1 without even needing the Golden Letters to take the sets. It's plain to see why his victory was celebrated with so much vigor and love from fellow competitors. Not to mention it once again ignited the friendly rivalry between NA and EU scenes that became nearly non-existent during the pandemic.

The final Top 8 was as follows:

  1. AyoRichie
  2. Joey Fury
  3. Anakin
  4. SuperAkouma
  5. Chickenmaru
  6. Kaneandtrench
  7. Sephiblack
  8. Fergus
