Akuma Accounts For 74% Of New Master Rank Characters Since Release

With the new Street Fighter 6 patch out for about a week now, some patterns are starting to emerge that give the meta some sort of face. It seems clear that Akuma is a top tier character as data suggests that over 75% of new Master rank entrants have used the character to get there. 

While this has no played out in competitive matches yet, it might only be a matter of time before Akuma starts dominating the game. 

X user and Twitch streamer, @AlietteFaye, who usually shares graphs showing player representation, released another showing that 46 of the 500+ players in Legend rank are there with Akuma which represents the highest number so far. 

This is followed by Cammy with 42 players. Also of note is the fact that there are now 32 Legend ranked Zangiefs making him the fifth most represented character in Legend rank.

Akuma was released on the 22nd of May 2024 and is the last character to be added for Street Fighter 6's first season. Now fans look forward to the announcement of the characters that will be added for the new season of the game, and also the fact that the game will receive more frequent patches.
