Blaz Dominates Chilean MR Leaderboard
The prodigy's ability is incredible to behold

Derek Blaz, the 15-year-old prodigy who came second place at the last Capcom Cup, has continued to show his prowess in Street Fighter 6 even after bursting into the spotlight with his performances.

The youngster is the talk of the FGC and is considered a potential world-beater in the making. This is for many reasons, from his strong finishes in tournaments to his ability to pick up multiple characters and play them at a high level.

This is something he really showed recently as he won the 1st South American East WW tournament, defeating fellow Chilean prodigy, Craime, in grand finals to put himself at the top of the regional leaderboard.

What was most remarkable about his win was his character choice as he did this with Jamie, a character that many consider on the weaker side in Street Fighter 6

Beyond that, though, it would seem he is dominating the Master Rate charts over in South America as he takes up 5 spots on the leaderboard in the top 20 ranked players.

This is remarkable as that means he has five different characters that are strong enough to be in the top 20 in his region. Of the five, 3 of them are in the Legend cadre.

He is also one of only 2 Chileans on that leaderboard, the other being Craime.

Blaz will still show his skills in tournaments and with Evo and Blink Respawn all coming up in the near future, it will be a chance to see the young buck in action again. It will be fascinating if he is able to win a premier, which will open up another spot for someone in his region through the World Warrior program.
