Li Mei

Story

Originally, Li Mei and her people, Outworlders called Sun Do, were enslaved by Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. Her fighting spirit became more well-known as she sought to free her people. Eventually, Quan Chi took notice. Curious about her strength, he offered her an opportunity to free her people by participating in his tournaments. Unsurprisingly, he did not follow through and attempted to use her to revive Onoga’s army.

Before the most recent timeline reset, Li Mei was a Sun Do Outworlder; these people were forced out of their homelands by a Shinnok-empowered Mileena. Li Mei would eventually meet with Earthhrealm forces and provide some assistance to their attempt at stopping the rampaging Mileena.

Now, Liu Kang's world has made Li Mei a warrior priestess of the Umgadi, protectors of the Outworld royal family. However, she would willingly step away from this role after being blamed for a terrible tragedy. Li Mei now seeks to right that wrong, prove she is worthy of respect, and redeem herself in the eyes of the Outworld.

Personality

Li Mei's upbringing among the Umgadi has made her a tense but stern leader. She is a no-nonsense fighter, and like Tanya, her sense of duty can often boil over and spill onto others as outright anger of even violence. Yet, she is an experienced combatant who understands the power of patience and authority.

Playstyle

Li Mei Umgadi's fighting style asks her to come up close to get opponents with plenty of long kicks and rising hits. Her powerful attacks also allow her to control more of the stage and push opponents closer to the corners, where she can harass her opponents.

Appearance

Given her Umgadi background, Li Mei carries herself as a disciplined Outworld Bodyguard. As a high-ranking member of the capital’s police force, she often wears her officer uniform, a purple-colored sleeveless shirt and dark leather vest on top.
