Biography

Story

Happy Chaos was originally the genius scholar that discovered and gained access to the Backyard and created Universal Will. Even though it was designed to lead humanity towards a happy future, it turned against it.

When I-No appeared in the Backyard, her power was so great that it threatened to destroy the entire world. The Original took away half of her ability to prevent this from happening. Since Universal Will could not directly impact The Original, she took this opportunity to affect him differently, merging The Original with I-No’s power, resulting in Happy Chaos. His demeanor and appearance drastically changed, and so did his actions. During the Crusades, he would leave the Backyard to impact the world in various ways, usually causing terrible conflicts. He was mistakenly labeled “That Man,” and many of his actions were attributed to Asuka. He also met and used samurai Nagoriyuki for his misdeeds at that time.

At some point, Ariels merged with Happy Chaos to gain his vast knowledge, and it wasn’t until much later on that I-No freed him. Despite being powerful enough to resist her, Happy Chaos was entertained by her action and assisted in I-No’s plan of absorbing the other half of her power, ascending into a much more powerful being. To accomplish this, he needed the Tome of Origin held by Asuka and formed a plan to get it. As if knowing this, Asuka asked the US president for confinement to protect him and the book. First, Chaos and I-No forced Nagoriyuki to help once again, with I-No then letting herself be captured as Chaos infiltrated the White House. He successfully managed to take world leaders hostage, but Sol interrupted his plans. In response, Happy Chaos activated Tír na nÓg, which turned the White House into a massive shipment, trapping everyone involved on board.

After the collaborative effort of the US, Illarya, Zepp, and people on board the White House, Sol managed to trap Happy Chaos in the closed chamber that was meant to protect Tome of Origin. Just as everything seemed to have been resolved, it turned out that Happy Chaos disguised himself as a member of the security forces. Using the element of surprise, he extracts the Tome of Origin out of Asuka and merges with I-No, ascending her to godhood. However, Sol, Ky, and Nagoriyuki manage to defeat her before she can do anything severe. While I-No crumbles into dust, Happy Chaos manages to emerge unharmed at a remote location. His plans are unknown.

Personality

Happy Chaos has no real motives, attachments, or values. After merging with I-No, he lost any concept of good and evil and became disinterested in the world due to his exhausting knowledge. He is only driven by a desire for drama and to make things fun or exciting. In particular, he enjoys creating situations that make a human struggle, as he likes seeing what humanity will come up with to resolve problems he created.

Appearance

Happy Chaos has blue skin, black nails, brown eyes, and medium-length grey hair. His skin has several orange crosses around the arms and collar, white palms and soles, and a large black heart on his chest with teeth and another cross within it. He wears black pants, a brown gun holster, a black suit jacket with an orange inner layer, black fingerless gloves, and orange, cross-shaped sunglasses. Above his head floats a large black halo.

Playstyle

Happy Chaos is an incredibly unique character. His primary feature is the Crescent Moon revolver. Using his gun and different shooting stances, Chaos can shoot opponents at any time as long as he has concentration and bullets. Despite being capable of full-screen offense, he performs best at close to mid-range since using the gun allows for oppressive, near gapless pressure and damaging conversion off of many successful hits. His Scapegoat special move further improves his offensive opportunities. Since it can take one hit before disappearing, Chaos can use it to either give himself some breathing room or set up powerful okizeme.

For his distinct strength, he pays with several significant drawbacks. Chaos’s health is on the lower end, and his defense is non-existent with no reversals and standard i5 5P. Using his signature gun also requires managing not one but two meters at once. The first is the six bullets that need to be manually reloaded, and the second is a concentration gauge that fills up over time. These gauges make it difficult for Chaos to keep up the offense, requiring him to find openings to reload or fill up concentration.
