* - let's be real, you can't do it, I can't do it, 99.99% of Akuma players in the world probably got not shot at beating the GOAT in a FT5.
It seems like MenaRD is taking his matchup training extremely serious, and is ready to put his money where his mouth is.
One of his most recent posts on X essentially has the two-time Capcom Cup champion issuing an open challenge to anyone who thinks that they can take down his Blanka in a first-to-five set with their Akuma.
He doubled the challenge in Japanese and went on to add that this would be a one-on-one competition, no entry fees or anything, no profit for people organizing it, just pure fighting game competition.
Though, funnily enough, he had to retract the 100 dollar prize for the Japanese players. Not out of greed, or anything like that, but because Japan can get notoriously difficult when it comes to monetary prizes.
As such, the offer changed to beating treated to a good meal, which is not bad at all.
While it doesn't seem all that likely that someone would actually be good enough to beat MenaRD's perhaps strongest character in a FT5, it certainly would be interesting to watch.
