Project L's new details

Bruce Hsiang, better known as Gamerbee, attended Riot Games' gala event in Japan, where the highly anticipated fighting game Project L was showcased. Aside from already revealed things like rollback netcode, f2p distribution, and tag 2v2 gameplay, a few new details have been told, like Project L to be a live-service title with years of support to come. Capcom Pro Tour rules update

Capcom released an update for the rules of Capcom Pro Tour events regarding leverless controllers. It aims to negate the advantage given by controllers like HitBox in terms of input and reaction time. HitBox already released a statement in response to this. Granblue Fantasy: Versus - Rising new character

During EVO Japan 2023, Arc Sys and Cygames revealed a trailer for the new character, Sigfried, coming to Granblue Fantasy: Versus - Rising. Also, an online beta for PlayStation 4/5 is set to take place in May, with more details to be revealed soon.

The King of Fighters news

The King of Fighters XIII Global Match has been announced during EVO Japan 2023. It's a definitive version of 2010 fighter, which is set to release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch this summer with rollback netcode and overall updated online functionality.

As for The King of Fighters XV, Kim Kaphwan will be available today, April 4th, with three more characters to be released this Summer, including Free-LC Goenitz. In the video down below, you can also find a new concept art for the upcoming Fatal Fury / Garou and a reminder for rollback netcode tests coming for Samurai Shodown.

Team Panther roster expansion 

Denom "A F0xy Grampa" Jones, who doesn't need an additional introduction, has joined Team Panther's Mortal Kombat 11 roster. Also, a 16-player invitational event has been announced, which is set to take place on April 9 with a $1500 prize pool.

Tekken 8 news

First, two more rounds of closed alpha tests have been announced for Tekken 8. They will take place during The MIXUP 2023 - Round 5 in Lyon, France, on April 22-23, and during COMBO BREAKER 2023 in Schaumburg, USA, on May 26-28. 

We've also been treated with a bunch of new character reveal trailers, starting with Ling Xiaoyu during the last week, and Leroy Smith and Asuka Kazama showcased during Tekken 7 tournament at EVO Japan 2023.

EVO Japan 2023

Speaking of, the highly anticipated event returned after a three-year pause and took place during the weekend in Tokyo Big Sight, Japan. Despite some technical issues, it's been quite a show with a world-class level of competition. Overall, the event definitely lived up to expectations, with dozens of big upsets, pop-offs, and, all in all, high-quality fighting game entertainment.
