Fuudo, a Japanese player and veteran has emerged as the winner of the Topanga Championship6 for Street Fighter 6.
He finished the round-robin matches with 5 wins and 1 defeat making him one of the most successful players in the Topanga Championship history. He now has wins in Street Fighter IV, V and 6 in Topanga, the only player to ever do so.
This wins shows his great consistency over the years, and he has done it in a versatile fashion using Dhalsim, Ed, and Dee Jay.
His final match was against Yamaguchi who he defeated 7-4
Fuudo's choice to use Dhalsim for several games in the tournament was not without pushback as he revealed that his wife begged him not to use the long-limbed character and he instead pressured her, stating that he could do it, and it turns out that he was right.
His wife also spoke up, stating that he was not only a champion in the game, he was also a great father who was always there for his family.
"6th TOPANGA CHAMPIONSHIP! Fuudo won!!! He’s won in Street Fighter 4, 5, and 6!!! Always so strong! He’s giving his all every day with parenting too, the best husband and the strongest dad!! Thank you so much to everyone who cheered him on and helped with practice matches!!"
Fuudo will now prepare for Blink Respawn 2025, where he'll be looking to book a spot at Capcom Cup. He'll also have Evo and the Esports World Cup to contend with next month before focusing on Street Fighter League, where he'll line up with REJECT.
