Street Fighter 6 has been out for over a month, and that has been more than enough time for the community to come up with some rather interesting modifications for the game. The modding community is a major part of any game’s life, and it is one of the overwhelming advantages of PC gaming that some modifications can be made for a game to give it some sort of flavor.
Obviously, just as with any sort of art, modding is subjective, and there are some mods that are better than others. But, generally speaking, mods are a way to experience the game a little differently, and there are a lot of fun ones out there.
In this article, we’ll be looking at 10 mods you should consider downloading if you are into game mods and want to give your Street Fighter 6 experience a lick of paint.
It should be noted that this is a list of mods I liked, meaning that this is a personal preference list rather than an objective one. With all that said, let’s have a look at the best mods for Street Fighter 6.
Marisa She-Hulk
From the moment we were introduced to Marisa in December 2022 people have been fascinated by her design. Standing at almost 7ft, she is a powerhouse and a different take on what female characters typically look like in fighting games. One only has to look at Marisa before comparing her to the comic character, She-Hulk, who is similar to Marisa in some ways, mostly in terms of build and strength. Well, thanks to Remy2FANG, we can see what that looks like and it really does look great. With She-Hulk’s stature and presence, it fits how Marisa looks and is certainly a mod that is worth a look. You can download it here.
Li-Fen as Chun Li
Li-Fen is a character that first appeared in Street Fighter III: Third Strike and was later seen in Street Fighter V as a victim of Shadaloo’s evil. She has been taken under the wing of Chun Li, who is her teacher, mother figure, and mentor. Li-Fen returns in Street Fighter 6 as a wise-cracking teenager who also happens to be a computer whiz capable of doing all the hacking stuff. This enables her to help with Chun Li’s work for Interpol. She was instrumental in determining Ken’s innocence in the prequel comics.
There are some hopes that somewhere along the line Li-Fen will become a playable character, but until then, you can experience her using this mod which models Li-Fen as a Chun Li ‘costume.' So, something you might notice is that Li-Fen looks a little 'weird', perhaps like she has had a bender and is seriously hungover or perhaps even high. It makes her look a lot more sinister, which might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I personally find it hilarious. You can see Li-Fen in action in World Tour mode, but with the mod, you can just use her whenever you want.
Deadpool
Everyone’s merc with a mouth is a character that just fits as a fighting game character. Unfortunately, while he has been in several video games, he has never been a playable character in a fighting game. This doesn’t change with Street Fighter 6, but you can at least have a glimpse of what he looks like with this mod skin.
Here he is put over Luke, meaning you’ll be using the SF6 protagonist’s moveset to power the Marvel anti-hero. It’s highly unlikely we’ll get Deadpool as a guest character in Street Fighter, so this mod is perhaps the closest we’ll get to seeing Deadpool in this fighting game.
Armor Marisa
So, Marisa makes another appearance on this list, and this is mostly because she is just a really fun character to modify. One of the things you will notice about Marisa is that she is a warrior. She practises a fighting style known as Pankration, which was made popular by the Greeks in ancient times. However, Marisa is Roman and is proud of her heritage, which shines through in her personality and her love for the gladiator’s arena. So, it does make sense that she would have an armor mod that shows her in classic ancient armor, including a helmet, breastplate, and dangling straps. The beauty of this mod is in how natural it looks, as it isn’t outlandish in any way, and you can totally picture Marisa stepping out in something like that. If you are interested in downloading it, it will be well worth your while.
Devil May Cry Lily
Lily is my favorite character in the game, so a mod involving her was sure to catch my eye. In this mod, Lily is dressed as Nico from Devil May Cry 5, who accompanies Nero on his journey. The outfit looks great on Lily and the shorts also work since Lily already wears those. As for her pogamoggans, they have been replaced by the two swords, Agni and Rudra, from DMC 3.
The change in hairstyle also makes Lily look more mature, and the tools hanging from her belt really give her the mechanic look. All in all, it is a great mod courtesy of monkeygigabuster.
No Facial Hair Mod
Mods aren’t only applicable for single characters and aren't always a costume. This next mod is one that can be applied to all male characters with facial hair in the game. So, if you are a fan of all things clean-shaven, this is the mod for you. This mod allows you to use characters with facial hair and take them off. So, characters like Ryu, JP, Guile, and Ken’s stubble are all gone. It makes the characters look a little weird, but it’s fun nonetheless and one you might quite enjoy playing.
It should be noted that it doesn’t completely get rid of Zangief’s facial hair, though, so keep that in mind when downloading it.
Metro City Zangief
Everyone's favorite Russian wrestler has been one of the most famous characters in fighting games for almost three decades. Zangief is typically portrayed in wrestling clothes and typically doesn't wear much, but in this mod, he is dressed as the mayor of Metro City. While not nearly as stylish as Cody, Zangief looks awesome with a proper shirt, tie and pants. He also has the option of a normal haircut as opposed to his mohawk, which makes him look a lot more dignified. Ever since the image of Zangief in the library took off online, this sort of interpretation of Zangief has become a lot more appealing. The mod is available for download and will be a great addition to whatever collection you have.
Jill Resident Evil Mod
Resident Evil 3 Remake was released in 2020 and was immediately hailed as a classic. It didn’t hurt anyone that Jill Valentine is such an iconic character and her choice of wardrobe, while understated is recognizable to any fan of the game. So, who better to give that outfit than Delta Red operative Cammy White.
The mod gives Cammy the outfit, and it is a great fit as the two characters do have some similarities, and just as with Armor Marisa, the appeal of this mod is how natural it looks on Cammy. It looks like something that Capcom themselves could have done which is quite possible considering Capcom owns both Resident Evil and Street Fighter.
If Capcom never do it, you can always go for this mod and download it here.
Jimbe as Honda Mod
Jimbe is a character from One Piece and a member of the Strawhats Pirate crew. One of the longest-running anime out there, One Piece is dearly beloved by fans and Jimbe is one of the most recognizable characters from the series.
This mod reimagines E.Honda as the pirate character, and considering Jimbe’s build, looks and disposition, this is a perfect mod. Watching Jimbe do a sumo headbutt looks satisfying and right. Created by the brilliant Ercuallo, this is one of the most fun and whimsical mods in the game.
Goth Girls Mod
Last but by no means least, we have the goth girls mod which is applicable to every female character in the game. As the name suggests, this is a mod that dresses all the female characters in Street Fighter 6 in all black complete with black eyeliner and lipstick. It looks incredible, to be honest, and while they all look angsty and emo, it is also quite visually appealing.
It is one you would most definitely want to try out. If you are interested in giving it a try, you can download it here.
Honorable Mention
Dumbledore JP
If you are a fan of Harry Potter, you are certainly familiar with Albus Dumbledore. He is considered the most powerful wizard in the entire story, and his abilities are quite insane. Also, if you read the books, you are aware that he could easily have become a dark wizard and, in fact, had some dealings with one of the most notorious dark wizards of his time, Grindelwald.
So, seeing him as a costume for JP is just perfect. Repurposing JP’s walking stick as a wand is a genius move, and just the thought of watching old man Dumbledore using command grabs and hitting you with full-screen projectiles is so fascinating. While the graphical fidelity does leave a little something to be desired, it is still well worth a download.
There are still several great mods I didn’t examine today, and there will be loads more as the game becomes more popular, but if you are a fan, then definitely try some of these out. What is your favorite mod? What mod do you think would be brilliant for the game? You can leave a response in the comments and follow DashFight on Twitter (or is it X now?) for even more incredible fighting game content.
