REJECT might just have the strongest fighting game roster in the world
Japanese esports organization, REJECT, have announced the signing of two of the biggest fighting game players in the world, AngryBird and Big Bird.
The announcement was made in a video which was shared on YouTube and across social media.
AngryBird and Big Bird left NASR esports in October 2024 in what came as a shock to everyone and fans had been very interested to see where they would wind up.
The move also signifies a strong partnership between Japan and the UAE as REJECT is a Japanese company that now has some significant interest in the Middle East including the fact that they now have offices in Abu Dhabi.
In an official statement on the REJECT website, AngryBird reacted to his signing by saying:
"It has been a dream for me to be sponsored by a Japanese organization let alone the amazing “Team REJECT” because Japan is known to be the biggest and best region for Street Fighter and in Esports in General
"I can't wait to play under team REJECT especially in Japan for the first Capcom Cup being there, much love to all the fans! I love you all ! We will do our best to represent at the best of our abilities."
Big Bird also echoed this sentiment saying,
"Joining REJECT feels special to me, not only because it's a powerhouse organization in Japan, but also because I'm excited to see UAE and Japan work together to further make REJECT a global powerhouse in the esports world. I'm looking forward to representing REJECT in Capcom Cup and I'll do my best to perform in the big stages and make all the fans happy."
REJECT are flying high as they are in the Grand Final of Street Fighter League with a big possibility of winning it and with the addition of the Birds, it'll be interesting to see if this means REJECT will join the American SFL or remain in Europe. It also means that Big Bird and AngryBird might be facing off against their new team in the SFL World Championship which the Birds have qualified for via winning SFL EU.
First off though, is Capcom Cup which the players will be hoping to make a mark in.
