Tokido, Kawano, Others Nominated For Esports Award
Their contributions to their games have made them worthy of an award

Street Fighter 6's Tokido and Kawano, Miya from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Double from Tekken were all winners of the 2024 Esports Awards Japan for their incredible contributions over the past year.

The esports awards which is organized by the Japan Esports Union, is an annual event to celebrate the players who have performed admirably over the year and 2024's set was truly a list of heavy hitters.

From the world of Street Fighter, Kawano was awarded in large part due to his performances at the Esports World Cup where he finished in second place behind Xiao Hai and was an exemplary player throughout. There was also Tokido who won the stacked Capcom Pro Tour Super Premiere in Japan defeating his team mate, LeShar and booking his place at Capcom Cup 11.

The other winners were Miya, a Smash player representing Fennel who has had a dominant year winning Umebura SP11 and Maesuma 'Japan' West 24. He also won Riptide 2024 and so many other tournaments for the year.

Finally, there was Tekken 8's Double, who has also had an exemplary year winning the MixUp in France and finishing in the top 4 at the Esports World Cup losing to finalist, ATIF.

This should make the players only strive harder in the next year.
