The Japan Super Premier is now over and it was a big win for fighting game legend, Tokido, who took the tournament over LeShar in a 3-1 victory which also means that he will qualify for Capcom Cup for the first time in three attempts.
The other player to qualify was LeShar, the Korean player who made waves at Capcom Cup X and has been a mainstay ever since. His qualification was even more remarkable because he has been unable to participate in the Korean World Warrior tournaments because he currently lives in Japan. He moved to Japan to take part in Street Fighter League and was quickly snapped up by Yogibo REJECT, the same team that Tokido is on.
In SFL Japan, they are the top of their league table and are doing really well because of the influence of LeShar.
With no Korean World Warrior, LeShar only had the option of qualifying for Capcom Cup via an offline event. Interestingly, he hasn't travelled for any save for the one in Singapore where he was unable to make the top two. So, doing it, in the most stacked bracket possible, is really impressive.
