2XQO might serve as a good matchmaking alternative for those who want a more competitive experience.
With the most recent patch 1.3.1, 2XKO gained a lot of new content, but some of it also got cut in preparation for the end of active development.
One of those things was the ranked matchmaking, presumably because it relies too much on the company servers to store, maintain, and modify all the ranked data.
The reactions to this have been mixed, but is a notable number of people who simply got way worse matches both in terms of skill and ping.
Thanks to Goozack, at least one of these issue might now have a solution in the form of 2XQO.
The website is still in its early stages, and it will need a certain amount of players signing up to be truly useful, but in the future it might become a much needed way to streamline matchmaking and find someone around your skill level.
A sort of ladder or ranked leaderboard could also serve as a nice bit of motivation for people to play and get better when it comes to small communities. Even reaching the highest rank in a popular fighter doesn't quite compare to being even in top 50 of a community where people generally all know each other.
