2XKO Lux Gets New Gameplay Reveal
Character is coming next week.

In case you have forgotten (as many commenters under this announcement on YouTube and X seem to have) while active development of 2XKO is slated to end in December of this year, the team working on this game still has a lot of content planned for the final few patches.

This includes two more characters, with Lux coming first and Samira releasing some time later.

We've seen some glimpses before, but now she has a proper gameplay trailer.

And let's just say what everyone is thinking, right? This is a messed up reveal. It's messed up because we all know what Riot has done to the game, and yet you watch this video and what do you see?

The model and animations are immaculate. I don't care if there's some skin of Lux that you really like in League of Legends, this 2XKO rendition is the best this character ever looked, they knocked it out of the park, it's a homerun that you can see coming before the bat even swung. The personality, voice acting, the style, there's no understating how good of a job they've done.

Yet that's just the presentation, you look at her gameplay and it's a legitimately interesting kit as well. You got unorthodox dash and projectiles, a dive kick, saucy looking combos and mix-ups, it's everything you could ask for in a tag character.

2XKO had solid momentum in general, when you consider that it's a debut fighting game from a pretty fresh team and it's a tag fighter that launched with a tiny roster. They kept buffing out the dents and adding more content, and even built a pipeline that would've allowed them to make 6 polished up characters a year, and then Riot just pulled the plug.

It's just a gameplay reveal trailer but it's also a reminder that regardless of how you feel about the game, regardless how you feel about the attitude of certain people on the team, Riot has done this game dirty. It's a project that could've been fostered into a staple tag fighter that will stay around while other games in the genre come and go, but that wasn't good enough for a company that wanted a massive live service hit.
