Become a PatronOne of Mortal Kombat's cornerstone online competitions, The Kolosseum, is gearing up for its 6th season and the first of 2024. With a handful of changes for the incoming season, here is the breakdown of what to expect for season 6.
The first major change is that the competition will no longer use a point-standing system for the finals. Instead, the winner of each week will automatically qualify for the season finals. To coincide with this change, the finals for each week are now double-elimination tournaments instead of single-elimination. The competition will start earlier each week to accommodate the expanded finals format.
There are now also prizes for the winners of each weekly:
Still made up of eight weeks, the winner of each event will be invited to the finals, where, once again, they will face off in a double-elimination bracket. Prizes are once again community-raised via the event's Matcherino page. Alongside cash, the top 3 players will also receive a custom 3D-printed, MK-inspired mask and the winner an exclusive Kolosseum trophy.
The Start.gg page for the season is already up and open for all players, with no entry fee. The season starts in full on January 21st and continues until April 14th, with the finals on the weekend of April 21st. There is also the event's Discord server, and you can expect MrAquaman himself to be casting the matches on Sunday.
