The Big Season 3 Patch For Street Fighter 6 Is Here!
There's a lot going on

The big Season 3 patch for Street Fighter 6 is now live. Among all the updates, several universal changes stand out—particularly changes to the way Perfect Parry works. For those hoping for adjustments to throw loops, there may be some disappointment: throw loops are still present in the game. However, some characters with especially problematic throw loops, like Ken and Ed, were nerfed.

When it comes to individual character changes, it's widely recognized that Ryu received the most buffs. The iconic fighter, one of the most beloved in the Street Fighter franchise, was given a suite of new tools. His fireball now moves faster, and his Level 1 Super has been updated to include more hits. These changes, along with other buffs, could very well position Ryu as one of the top-tier characters this season.

On the other hand, Ed appears to have been hit the hardest by nerfs. His Flicker can now be Perfect Parried, and his throw loop potential has been significantly reduced. Other characters also received adjustments, and in Japan, there's been notable backlash over changes made to Zangief. While his hurtbox was enlarged, making him easier to hit, some of his moves were given more range, including his Drive Impact.

There were many more changes made in this patch. To see the full list of updates, you can check out the official patch notes here.

The general consensus around the Season 3 patch is mixed. While it introduced a variety of changes, many players feel it didn’t go far enough. Some pro players have expressed feeling underwhelmed. That said, compared to the ongoing balancing challenges seen in Tekken, many in the Street Fighter 6 community are still optimistic. These updates may not be perfect, but they set the game on a promising path forward.
