Titles could launch sooner than expected
Bandai Namco has been actively boosting Tekken 8 for many months, systematically revealing new roster members and sharing game details on podcasts and big tournaments. However, we have not received any official news regarding the alleged release of the fighting game even after the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test.
A release might be around the corner, as evidenced by recent information from South Korea. According to a new listing posted on August 11, 2023, the latest entry in the Tekken series is already rated 15 and above by the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea.
Also, information from the registry of The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee hints at increasing interest in the series. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Tekken 6 and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny were recently spotted there.
These titles will likely appear in the PlayStation Plus Classics catalog, available to owners of the premium subscription to the service, and with a high probability may be direct ports from the PlayStation Portable:
Tekken 8 is being developed for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The team has kept the release date a secret, but the fighting game may go on sale as early as 2023.
