Street Fighter V at The MIXUP 2023: Maldominant Dominates!
The Urien player was in a boisterous move as he overcame a damaging defeat to win Europe's final Street Fighter V major

The MIXUP 2023 is perhaps Europe's final Street Fighter V major tournament and it was won by a French player, Maldominant, whose Urien was in fine form for the entirety of the tournament.

The MIXUP 2023 did not have too many recognizable faces for Street Fighter V, but we were privy to some great games, and no Luke (seems like a European thing), which is always fun.

Maldominant defeated DeDg 6-0, first forcing a reset and then dominating that reset to take home the championship belt.

Maldominant had already lost 3-0 to DeDg in the Winners' final before taking on EsseX the Sinner in the Losers' Final and advancing to Grand Final, where DeDg's Laura was waiting.

Apart from the finalists, we saw some great Zangief action from the only non-Frenchman in the top 8, Mopsy, from Ireland, who was fun to watch. There was also Benmoh, who used Kolin quite effectively before being knocked out by EsseX the Sinner. Benmoh attempted a late rally with Oro, but it was too little, too late.

There was an English commentary team for the tournament, as it was held in Lyon, France, and primarily conducted in French.

Maldominant will be hopeful of finding more success in Street Fighter 6, and it'll be interesting to see how he fares.
