Street Fighter V at Defend the North: iDom Wins Again!
There's no stopping this man in his current form

Defend the North 2022 has now concluded and it is safe to say that the first full PC-ran major tournament was an unmitigated success. In Street Fighter V, the top 8 was an exciting affair that saw the top players from around America fighting for the win on optimized PCs.

When the dust settled, only one man was left standing, iDom. He has again proven himself to be arguably the best player in the world as he takes yet another tournament. iDom's 2022 has been insane as his win at Defend the North now means he has won Combo Breaker, CEO, East Coast Throwdown and now DTN. Interestingly, his opponents in all of these tournaments were different, as he beat Caba, MenaRD, Shine, and Kudo. So, while the competition around him has changed, iDom has been consistently at the top winning again and again.

In second place, as mentioned earlier, was Kudo who has also had an impressive 2022 as he was in the top 5 for Combo Breaker, CEO and DTN. Third place was taken by Punk which was great to see as he hasn't had the best of years for Street Fighter V at least. Punk did win DNF Duel, and with a win at VS Fighting, he has a fair few medals to show for his work in 2022.

Top 8 SFV

In fourth place was Justakid who has shown that his recent results are not flukes. His Juri has been putting in work making top 8 at Evo, the only other American to do it apart from iDom, and also had strong showings at Roundhouse 2022 which he won, 2nd at First Attack, and 1st again at the CPT midwest event.

Arturo Sanchez again showed why he is so respected in the community as he made top 8 even with how busy he was all weekend, ensuring that all the PC setups were optimized.

With the success of Defend the North and the PC setups, it'll be interesting to see what this means for other tournaments.
