Street Fighter League USA Introduces Scouting Combines

Street Fighter League USA now has a start date. 

The 2024 edition of the annual competition will start from October 2024. However, they also announced on Social Media that they will be introducing scouting combines. A scouting combine is a term popularized by the NFL whereby athletes gather together before coaches, general managers, and scouts and show off their skills in a bid to improve their ranking in the NFL draft. 

The details are sparse, but it is set to begin in summer 2024.

The are requirements for those looking to join the league this year with players who qualified for the last Capcom Cup eligible along with team captains and the top 8 players in the scouting combine. 

For the scouting combine, they will consider 9 regions including Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. 

While the idea of an even more diverse league is fascinating, fans have questioned the idea of taking SFL USA and including regions such as Asia and Oceania especially when Japan only considers Japan and Europe also only focuses on Europe. 

It should also be noted that the Middle East was not included in the list (though it might fall under the 'Asia' tag) which would make one wonder if NASR Esports will return for this season.
