Street Fighter League Japan Week 1 Results
The most popular Street Fighter League is back with a bang and here is how things went in the first week

Week 1 of Street Fighter League Japan took place on Friday, the 7th of July 2023, marking the first outing of SFL with Street Fighter 6 since its release on the 2nd of June 2023.

Nine teams are taking part in the first stage, with three teams suffering knockouts and six teams moving on to the second stage.

The first day, along with all the other match days, featured three matches. The rules are similar to what they were last season, meaning that for each match, players will face each other in a first to two match in which the winner gets 10 points. However, the third match, otherwise known as the anchor match, is a first-to-three and the winner gets 20 points. But, if it turns out that both teams get 20 points each, there is then one more match which wins 5 points and is a first-to-one match.

The first match was between iXa Hiroshima and FAV Gaming, with the latter boasting of Tokido, Sako, and Bonchan, who all won their games to take the match 40-0.

The second match was between Saishunkan Sol Kumamoto, who were runners-up last time around, and Shinobism which is led by Momochi. It was our first look at Shuto's Modern Marisa, and it is clear that Shuto is going to be just as much of a problem as he was in Street Fighter V with Urien. The match ended 30-10 in favor of last year's runners-up.

The final match of the day saw defending champions, Good 8 Squad, suffer a scare against new boys Cyclops gaming. The match was finely poised 20-20, thanks to Kazunoko's impressive win against Pugera. But Tachikawa, using Modern controls with Luke, won against Go1 to win the match for the champions.

There will be another round of games on the 11th of July and one on the 14th before the league goes on a break for Evo and returns afterward.
