Street Fighter 6 Potential Season 4 Leaks Incite Frenzied Speculations

With the Ingrid release right around the corner, we're reached that magical moment in the classic FGC cycle where leaks of the next season start popping up.

Sometimes it's something someone dug up in the game files, sometimes it's the ever reliable dad working at Nintendo, and on occasion it's an actual leak from a regional branch of Bandai Namco.

This time it's more of the usual "guy who sort of was right last time so maybe they're right again."

Moonsault Slayer brought attention to this on X, with the supposed leak roster consisting of Vega, Gouken, Mike Haggar, and Tifa from Final Fantasy. 

After that, some of the more gullible fans started falling for the GenAI mock-up that made a sloppified version of the usual season line-up image.

Of course, these predictions could always turn out true, but they also could turn out false. Especially with Capcom having a history of feeding false information to different people in case of exactly this scenario happening.

One of the Reddit users even reached out to Rooflemonger for his take on the situation, which doesn't exactly alter the situation in one way or another, but perhaps serves as another reminder to take this with a truck of salt.

That said, it certainly got people talking about all the potential inclusions and this selection in particular. Tifa alone is quite a curious case.

Tekken fans have been expecting her to one day show up in the game for years now. She's quite a popular character, and her moveset would likely make a smooth transition into Tekken's system. She seemingly made so much sense as a guest character, that people thought it's only a question of time. From that point of view, it would be extremely funny if after all those expectations, Tifa shows up in Street Fighter 6 instead.

Though, of course, it's hard to really make a bad roster for your Season 4 speculations. Street Fighter had cool characters over the years, and even some of the relatively unpopular ones, like Abel, Sodom, or Necalli have enough gameplay juice and fans to say "you know what, that could actually work."

Hell, even characters that really weren't fleshed out all that well are not off the table. Ingrid never had time to get properly iterated on, and yet here she is now and looking better than ever. Just imagine Sean, Remy, or Twelve if they were given the same amount of love.

In that sense, whatever the final roster ends up being, you will inevitably see both disappointment and excitement, because it's hard to miss, but it's also really hard to please everyone.
