Street Fighter 6 Introduce Woshige As Limited-Time Special V-Rival

One of the most iconic Guilty Gear moments is being celebrated in Street Fighter 6 with a new event in which players can challenge a 'Professor Woshige' in the V-Rival area to brush up on their Street Fighter 6 skills. 

What makes the event so brilliant is how well it plays into FGC history and culture and makes fun of an FGC icon in the person of Ryuji Shigeno, who was better known as 'Woshige' when he played competitively. Woshige also happens to be a battle planner on Street Fighter 6 and was also a planner on Street Fighter V. 

He is infamous for an incredible moment of cinema in an Evo 2015 match against a player called Ogawa. Woshige, using Millia, won a round and thought he had won the set, bounding out of his seat in celebration only to realize to his horror that there was still a round to play. Unfortunately, before he got to his seat, his opponent had capitalized and won the set and Woshige was left crumpled at his game station. 

The event has become a meme and that Street Fighter 6 will have a character model of Woshige with emotes that mimic his ill-fated 2015 moment, makes it even more incredible. 

The event will run from the 5th of February to the 9th of March 2025.
