The most enjoyable feature of SC6 is the custom character creation page and we have all you need right her
Soulcalibur VI is one of the underrated games within the fighting game niche. First released in 2018, Soulcalibur VI has enjoyed a steady, if a little obscure, run in the FGC. However, the truth is that Soulcalibur VI has so many features that many fighting games just cannot compete. Perhaps the most exciting of this is the custom character creation option. This mode allows you to create a soul of your own. Thanks to this option, there are so many varied characters to choose from.
What’s even more fun is that you can use your customized character in the game and fight battles and so much more. This is because of another story mode introduced in Soulcalibur 6 called ‘Libra of Souls.’ In this game mode, you create your character from scratch, and you can use that character to explore the world of Soulcalibur. You get to travel to various locations and fight against different characters from the game and even other creations from people within the community.
There are a wide variety of things to choose from that will satisfy any user from more sweeping choices like clothing and face style, to more minuscule decisions like muscle definition and eyebrow thickness. In this guide, we’ll take a look at how you can create your own avatar, battle quote, and everything in between. Welcome to the Soulcalibur 6 character creation guide!
Who are You?
This is the quintessential question that humans ask themselves, and the search for the answer has been known to last a lifetime for some. The good thing about a fantasy world is that you are free to choose who you want to be without the restrictions of biology and whatnot. So, for Soulcalibur 6, one of the first things you’ll be asked about is what race or gender you want to be. To their credit, Soulcalibur VI has a lot of options, from the normal to the downright weird. Among the several options, you can choose to be:
-
Human
-
Lizardman
-
Mummy
-
Malfested
-
Mutated Malfested
-
Outcast
-
Revenant
This is not an exhaustive list of the things you can choose to be, but a preview of the options available to you. If you want to change things along the way, you are free to do so, meaning you aren’t wedded to any of the options you make as regards your customized character.
Of course, there are some caveats involved. For instance, some races do not have certain options available to them. This means that if you want to change your race, you might lose out on some of the things you have put in place. But, not to worry, you can create a different character as often as you want.
How Will You Fight?
The other really cool thing about the customization feature is that you can choose how you want to fight. Apart from all the cool cosmetic additives, you can imbue your character with; you also get to pick how they fight. Now, the fighting styles are mirrored after the players in the game, but there is enough variety there to let you do what you want. However, it should be noted that there are some weapons that are best used by pros. When you get to the fighting style selection screen, you will find rows of weapons that are used by the characters, but also, they are marked with different skill levels and fighting styles.
The skill levels available are:
-
Beginner
-
Intermediate
-
Advanced
For instance, the Giant Ax is an intermediate weapon, the longsword and pistol sword is great for beginners, while the Ring Blade is best left for the pros.
Apart from the skill levels, different weapons have different fighting styles attached to them.
The fighting styles highlighted are
-
Standard - These are weapons that are quite balanced and can do a bit of everything. This is usually advisable for beginners who have only recently started the game and aren’t settled on a playstyle just yet. A great example of this is the Death Scythe.
-
Technique - Technical weapons are usually tricky to master, but they are incredible once you get the hang of them. More often than not, these weapons are used by professionals. The Ring Blade is a classic example of a weapon that relies on technique.
-
Speed - As the name implies, weapons that rely on speed are usually light weapons that enhance the user’s speed. This is helpful if you are someone who favors a rushdown style and want to be able to keep your opponent pinned and unable to operate. The Chinese Sword is a fine example of a weapon built for speed.
-
Power - Power-based weapons are those weapons that hit hard and leave the opponent dazed and confused. A great example of a power weapon in Soulcalibur VI is the Zweihänder which is Nightmare’s ultimate weapon.
How will you look?
One of the most enjoyable aspects of customization is getting to choose how you look? In this game, not only can you choose from a variety of Soulcalibur 6 races, but you can also customize several things from your height to your build. There are several options available. There are currently five options available for your height. They are:
-
Short
-
Slightly short
-
Average
-
Slightly tall
-
Tall
You also get to pick your build, and you can choose to be thin, average, or thick. From there, you can move on to the more minute details. When dealing with your build, there are several details to look at, including your upper arms, hips, thighs, calves, stomach, pectorals, and so on. This might be a bit too much for some, and if you are a player who wants to get on with it, you can limit yourself to your height and size. All the other details are fine, and if you choose to leave them and go on with the game, your character will still look amazing.
But, if you are more of a stickler who wants their character to be just right, you have a whole world of customizations waiting for you. Just have fun.
Furthermore, you can choose your character’s face, hairstyle, and eyebrows. There are a LOT of hairstyles to choose from; this is the area you’ll probably spend a lot of time if you’re into that. You can choose to go with an afro or just go bald and everything in-between.
How will you sound?
Unlike several other games that give you a mute character all the time, Soulcalibur 6 lets you tinker with the way your avatar sounds. This is really exciting as it adds a great deal of depth to your creation. There are plenty of voice archetypes including alien, demihuman, upbeat girl, older sister, daring adventurer, and so many more. You can pick any of these archetypes, and you are good to go. But, if you want to go even deeper, you have the option to fiddle with your chosen voice settings. Including in these options are:
-
Vocal speed
-
Vocal pitch
-
Vocal tone
-
Malfestation level
Therefore, you can choose to sound any way you want. You can try out the Lizardman voice, which is more of unintelligible growls, if that’s more your thing.
Fashion statement
This will be the favorite part for some. In this section, you’ll be able to pick your character’s clothing, including its color, style, and the details on it. You can make use of a template and then build from there. For example, you can pick a pirate template and then customize it as you please. If that doesn’t work for you, you can also have the outfit randomized. If selected, the game will let you choose your character’s race, age, attachements, materials, and impression and, based on this, give you an outfit that should work well for your character.
If, for some reason, you want some different still, not to worry, there are more options for your character, and you can look for individual pieces to add to what your avatar already has on. At this point, it is important to note that while there are several options and categories to choose from, most of these come from existing material worn by characters in the game. So, it’s not necessarily ‘new,’ but, it is still quite varied and fun to play around with.
On top of all this, you can add tattoos, patterns, and colors to your character. This includes the color of their skin, hair, eyes, and anything else. You can also choose from a series of tattoos or Chinese characters to dress up your character.
Miscellaneous
Once you’re done with the main stuff, there are still a few things you need to finalize
When you are satisfied with your character, you can say goodbye to the customization page and begin the game.
