Sol Once Again Has Sidewinder, But There's a Catch
Guilty Gear account on X explains the extra details surrounding Sol's old new move in Guilty Gear Strive 2.0

One of the major changes for Guilty Gear Strive 2.0 is the addition of several new moves for select parts of the roster. One of the characters benefitting from this is none other than Sol Badguy who can now get back to his old shenanigans, at least to some extent.

It was fairly obvious from the preview footage, but the new move is indeed the Sidewinder from the Guilty Gear XX days, which were spiritually succeeded by the equally iconic dustloops in Xrd.

The only catch here is that this is no longer a separate move, but rather a follow-up to a heavy version of Volcanic Viper.

As the official account points out, this can serve as a nice little combo ender, and will allow for an OTG if you're close enough to the wall. However, landing a clean hit will allow you to extend the combo further for a pretty much guaranteed wall break.

While its usage is more limited now, this still seems like a healthy addition to the toolkit as long as it remains balanced relative to the rest of his moves.
