SNK Reveals New Character for KoFXV!

Well, I feel like a proper fool after speculations in the last post about the SNK's teaser. Turns out the smooth head outline was Hinako's cute little cap, while what looks like a shirt is either her hair or part of the dress! Naturally, the outline of her fingers is also deceiving, since the bandaging gives them a more muscular appearance.

However, what's important is that Hinako Shijo is back! For those no familiar with her, think of characters like Rufus in Street Fighter 4, or Bob in Tekken. Both of those characters achieved comedic effects by having fighting styles that contradict their rotund appearance. Well, Hinako does the same, but in a completely different way. This small Japanese girl is... a sumo wrestler.

The throws, the hand slaps, the foot stomps, she has everything you would expect and more, all without the usual disadvantage of sumo fighters being slow and unwieldy when it comes to their movement.

This brings an end to the DLC character pass for KoFXV. Hopefully we continue to see updates for this game, but it's not clear if SNK will be getting another wave of team or characters after this. As for Hinako, she will arrive in the Winter of 2023.
