Skullgirls Receives Major Update Affecting Sensitive Issues

Skullgirls is one of those games that has retained a cult following for about a decade and continues to draw a sizable amount of interest in tournaments and within the FGC.

Skullgirls was one of the mainstage games for Evo 2022 which was a great achievement and testament to the amount of attention the game still gets. 

On the other hand, the game has suffered through its fair share of controversies including a problematic developer which has been a dent on its otherwise stellar existence. 

In a tweet released on their official Twitter account, Skullgirls announced that it has implemented an update across all platforms including mobile which removes some assets and other story elements.

In a post explaining their rationale, the game developer stated that some of the elements represented in the game is not in line with their current philosophies including their views on sexuality, hate groups and so on. 

The reaction to their announcement has been generally positive as players and fans alike think it is a good move into the future of the game. With the release of Marie, imminent, it will be interesting to see what direction Skullgirls takes in future.
