Hidden Variable Announce Withdrawal From Skullgirls Development
It might be the end for the beloved game

Hidden Variable, the studio responsible for the development of the hugely popular Skullgirls mobile game and Skullgirls 2nd Encore, has announced that it will no longer be providing support for the game.

They made this known in a statement released on social media in which they said that their withdrawal was in response to a legal dispute with Autumn Games who are the publishers of the game.

In their statement, they thanked the community for all their support so far and said that they were incredibly proud with what they have been able to achieve with Skullgirls.

Skullgirls has been around since 2012, and is one of the longest surviving 2D fighters around. It had built a dedicated fanbase and community and as at 2017 had sold over a million copies on Steam.

This could spell the end of the game, and this seems to be the sentiment around the community at this time.

Unfortunately, we can't know more as Hidden Variable have said that they will not be commenting until the legal process is over.
