Shuto And Nephew Book Places In Capcom Cup XI

The first super premier of the Capcom Pro Tour season took place over the weekend and the winner was Shuto Matsumoto, otherwise known simply as 'Shuto'.

The Japanese player was in tremendous form as he took down everybody in his path with his Akuma and booked his place after a clutch win over China's Zhen in the winners' final. He would go on to defeat Nephew in the Grand Final to also take the whole tournament.

The other qualifier was Alan Sun, otherwise known as 'Nephew' who was also in incredible form and he also defeated Zhen to book his place in Capcom Cup. 

It was a momentous occasion for Shuto who is qualifying for his first ever Capcom Cup. He was a Marisa main who had to drop the character to switch to Akuma and it has paid dividends. It has also made people question the viability of Marisa in high-level play as Big Bird also dropped the character in favor of Rashid and has won a couple of events since.
