Shopify Rebellion Part Ways With JAK After Two Years Together
The Juri specialist is now a free agent with the Capcom Pro Tour season and Esports World Cup fast approaching

JAK, formerly known as JustAKid, has said goodbye to his team, Shopify Rebellion.

JAK, who only recently made top 8 at LVL Up Expo and top 48 at Evo Japan, was let go with Shopify, making a short post on their X account. JAK joined the team in 2025 after his former team, Moist Esports, was acquired by Shopify.

The acquisition saw Shopify Rebellion, which already had esports teams across various games, including Street Fighter, merge with Moist, who also had teams across their roster. The latter gave up their name and became subsumed into the Shopify family.

JAK had been with Moist since 2023 and has had a lot of memorable tournament runs, including top 3 placements at Roundhouse and First Attack and a win at Cream City Convergence 2023.

JAK, in his reply to Shopify, thanked them for the opportunity.

"What can I say except thank you X100 for all the amazing moments I was given courtesy of Shopify!" he said.

"They always made sure I was taken care [of] and I appreciate all they have done. Wishing them nothing but the best."

JAK will now be on the lookout for a new team with both the Capcom Pro Tour season and the Esports World Cup on the horizon.

JAK is a character specialist who has stuck with the same main, Juri, since he started playing in Street Fighter V. His consistent gameplay will make him a great acquisition for any team.

It might be the end of one chapter for JAK, but with his pedigree, it is expected that a new journey will begin in no time at all.
