The fighting game outfit from Japan decided not to renew the contracts of three top players
Shinobism Gaming which is co-headed by legendary Street Fighter player, Momochi, announced today that it was parting ways with three of its fighting game players, namely: Eita, Otani, and Haitani.
This is somewhat big news as Haitani is considered one of the fabled Japanese 'gods' of fighting games. He saw a lot of success in Street Fighter IV with a terrifying Makoto who was fast and aggressive. Haitani has remained active through Street Fighter V, but has never really recaptured the heights of his Street Fighter IV days.
In the Twitter post, Shinobism wished all three players all the best in future.
Haitani also took to his personal Twitter account to thank Shinobism for its support and all the fans that were with him for the journey. Otani and Eita are also being let go, with Otani announcing that he would be joining the team, Burning Core, for the foreseeable future.
Shinobism Gaming has been a staple of Street Fighter League Japan and was unfortunate to lose out in the last playoffs, where they fell to FAV Rohto Z. The current Shinobism lineup for SFL Japan is Momochi, Fujimura, Yamaguchi, and Johnny.
We wish the departing players all the best moving forward.
