Bunch, the creator and head tournament organizer of North American online weekly, CasaBunch, has announced that the weekly tournament is going on an indefinite hiatus.
He discussed this in a video that he put out, outlining why the regular series will no longer be holding events. According to Bunch, there are multiple reasons, some of which are personal and financial. He explained that doing a weekly is expensive and not so easy to do. Another major factor to the end of CasaBunch is just how many weeklies are holding in North America at the moment. He pointed out that with Street Fighter Academy, Can Opener, TNS, and FlyQuest holding every week, there just isn't really much of a need to have yet another tourney to tie up players.
He mentioned that a lot of his staff have also moved on to either new opportunities or something else, which has also had its own challenges. As for the future, he teased that he would be making more of an effort to create content, but also is working on a new local called DIY which is for the New York scene.
